pC: Euro 96

pC is a game in which people try to predict the results of soccer matches. The game was designed by Robin de Krijger for the Dutch soccer competition. There also is a version for the Swedish soccer competition organized by Erik TKS. This page describes the same game organized for the European Soccer Championship 1996 which will be held from June 8 till June 30 in England.

This site also has a guestbook. If you have anything you want to contribute you can sign the guestbook. If you are interested in what other people had to say about the European Soccer Championship you can read the guestbook.

Rules

You can predict the results of the matches that will be played in the European Soccer Championship 1996. You will get five points for every match of which you predict the correct winner. Furthermore you can earn a bonus point if you predict the correct goal difference in the match, the correct number goals of the first team or the correct number of goals for the second team. This means that you can earn eight points if you are able to predict a match perfectly. For examples of the points awarding system you can take a look at the result of the Swedish game for week 17.

The goal of the game is simple: to get as many points as possible during the European Championship.

We will use the results of the matches after 90 minutes of playing. This means that draws are possible in the knock-out matches after the first round. Furthermore we will award double points for the matches after the first round to keep the game attractive until the end. This means that you can earn up to 16 points for correctly predicting a quarter final, one of the half finals or the final.

Entry forms

Here are the links to the forms which you can use for submitting your predictions. We will be very strict about the deadlines: no predictions can be entered after a deadline even if the matches that you want to predict will be played several days later. The deadline times are according to MET Summertime (=Greenwich Mean Time + 2 hours).

It is not possible anymore to send in predictions for Euro 96.

These entry forms require that you are using a browser that is capable of handling forms. However you can also use this text form and send your predictions to erikt@stp.ling.uu.se by email.

If you have an email address you can get a confirmation of your predictions by email.
