  1. In a 10-week period a car salesman sells the following number of cars: 44, 50, 43, 49, 51, 40, 55, 50, 52 and 37. Determine the average of cars that this salesman sells in a week with certainty 95%. List all necessary intermediate steps!

  2. We will use the same salesman data as in 1. We will assume that the the number of car sales per week is a normally distributed stochastic variable & (xi). We want to make a maximum likelyhood estimator for &: MLE_&. Which variables/parameters in the frequency function of MLE_&; can be given values which are a result of the data? Describe how to obtain these values.
