About this website

This website is the result of the Language Technology Project 2005 at the University of Amsterdam. The goal of this project was to create a system that could automatically find and display relevant links to relevant concepts in a text.

The system consists of several modules. The first module finds relevant concepts. The next two modules search Wikipedia and Google respectively, in order to find relevant links to those concepts. The final module is the one that you are looking at now: it provides the webinterface and decides on which of the two retrieved links should be shown.

This project was created by Tim van Erven, Ori Garin, Gustaaf Haan, Joeri Honnef, Paul Manchego, Peter van der Meer, Daan Vreeswijk and Janneke van der Zwaan. It was supervised by Karin Müller and Erik Tjong Kim Sang.
