TdF Stage 18: July 23, 2010The eighteenth stage, 198 km from Salies-de-Bearn to Bordeaux, turned out to be a quiet one with few excitement. Four men escaped from the pack but they were caught with a little more than 10 km to go. There was a sprint finish and Mark Cavendish of the UK comfortably won his fourth stage. Alberto Contador kept the yellow jersey. Today, Bastin Verweij of The Netherlands won his fourth stage of this edition. Two participants from Canada completed the stage top three: Gary Timberlake and Bill Mackenzie. Rune Førsund (Norway) remains the overall the overall leader after this stage. His current lead over the two numbers two Saverio and Stefano Heyer is 30 points. It will be difficult to prevent him of winning his second edition of this game.
