TdF Stage 15: July 19, 2010Another escape in the 187 km stage 15 of the race (Pamiers to Bagneres-de-Luchon), a group of ten men. On the final climb, Frenchman Thomas Voeckler broke away from the leading group and won the stage. Behind him the race leader Andy Schleck of Luxembourg suffered from problems with his chain and Alberto Contador attacked. The Spaniard took over the yellow jersey. A couple of members of the leading group finished in the top ten of the stage so the best riders of the stage were more difficult to predict than yesterday. Wicher Otten of The Netherlands won his third stage this year. Four people shared second place: Alan Weinstein (USA), Jonathan Bertram (Australia), Martin van Beek (UK) and Pål Omnes Kjerpeseth (Norway). In the overall rankings, Rune Førsund (Norway) remains on the top position. Jan Van Dieten from The Netherlands takes second place from Saverio Heyer (Italy), who drops to third.
